1. Cruises

Many older adults take advantage of the gift of time to live an active lifestyle that happens aboard a cruise ship. Most cruise lines offer an all-inclusive package, so you do not have to worry about keeping cash and budgeting out your trip which can relieve a lot of stress from your vacation. There are also other options including excursions, itineraries, and scenic rides that make the cruise experience an enjoyable one. To learn more about the best cruises for seniors, be sure to read this Cruise Critic article.

2. Golf Vacations

If your travel friend or relative enjoys being active outdoors, a golfing vacation might be your ideal getaway. These outings are perfect for groups wanting friendly competition, to get some sun, or to enjoy light exercise. A few great golfing destinations include the beautiful Caribbean and sunny Florida.

3. Cultural Adventures

As we age, we may find a greater appreciation for the philosophical value of time. History possesses wisdom and one of the best ways to absorb this knowledge and appreciate the past is to visit historical sites.

Another great way to have a cultural adventure is to seek out culinary excursions. Great locations for foodies include Mexico and Italy! There are many unique cultures out there, you just have to find the ones that truly spark your interest!

4. Wheels of Freedom

A great way to see America coast to coast is by Recreational Vehicle (RV). RV’s are perfect for seniors wanting to travel with ease, while still enjoying an active lifestyle on the open road. With no need for repetitive bathroom stops or breaks to stretch your legs, an RV adventure can pose the perfect platform for travel. It is essential to make your trip worthwhile with destination stops, such as the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico or Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

If any of your traveling partners need special arrangements, be sure to schedule ahead of time. Here are a few travel tips for those heading out on a new adventure:

  • Ensure you have enough medication and vitamins for your entire trip. It is also a good idea to pack extra in a separate location, in case some luggage becomes misplaced.
  • Always check the weather the day before your trip and if you are going on vacation for longer than a few days, be sure to pack an array of clothing options.
