We’re taking a closer look inside the vision behind The Grill Room and how it’s disrupting the norm when it comes to senior living dining.

Elevated Dining at The Grill Room

The Grill Room is an intimate dining experience open every Friday and Saturday evening at select communities. The atmosphere at The Grill Room is different for every community, paying tribute to the surrounding area and the local community. For example, the restaurants in our Palm Beach Gardens and Wellington, Florida, communities feature coastal colors and décor. On the other hand, the Grill Room at HarborChase of Shorewood, Wisconsin, incorporates elements from a famous barbecue restaurant that was previously on the same property, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere.

Like other upscale restaurants, The Grill Room offers exceptional and attentive service partnered with multiple courses of remarkable dishes. However, The Grill Room differs from other fine-dining establishments. HarborChase Vice President of Hospitality, Christopher Thompson shared,

“In addition to the exceptional quality of food and personalized service, The Grill Room offers a more intimate experience than most upscale steakhouses. With a maximum seating of 16, the Executive Chef and his or her sous chef and servers provide a private experience, including demonstrations and details about the menu.”

Unique, Chef-Prepared Menus

Every weekend, guests can expect four to five courses with each seating, with wine pairings for each course available. According to Thompson, “each Director of Hospitality is a professionally trained chef. The chefs create their menus based on local selections and tastes and their own talents and experiences. As a result, each chef brings a unique style to his or her kitchen and The Grill Room.”

While each menu is specially curated to include local and seasonal ingredients, all Grill Room menus have a standard “Land, Air, and Sea” theme—whereas the main course features an option from each category. HarborChase Farm-to-Table Philosophy

At HarborChase, we believe in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Many of The Grill Room locations even use ingredients sourced from their own properties. For example, some of our communities have gardens for growing herbs. HarborChase of Mandarin even has a working chicken coop on the property, along with herb gardens and producing citrus trees.

Celebrations at The Grill Room

Since The Grill Room restaurants are located inside our communities, residents don’t have to worry about transportation, exposure to crowds, or being far away from home. As every Grill Room can accommodate up to 16 people during each weekend meal, residents are encouraged to dine with their family and friends for special occasions or just an elegant night out! Thompson says, “Special holiday and event menus are also planned accordingly. Holidays with families are especially grand at The Grill Room.”
