HarborChase of Princeton & Akin Care Senior Services Give Back at Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1 Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Posted By on February 3, 2021

PRINCETON, New Jersey, Feb. 1, 2021 – HarborChase of Princeton partnered with Akin Care Senior Services and the Kingston Ladies Auxiliary to host a drive-thru holiday event to collect food which benefitted the South Brunswick Food Pantry. In addition, sold wreaths for $25 each with all proceeds being donated to the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1.

The soon-to-be-opened assisted living and memory care community conceptualized a unique way to give back during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing wreaths to local businesses and professionals who decorated the wreaths and subsequently gave back to the community to sell. The drive-thru event raised money for the food bank, was attended by 110 cars, 150 guests, 40 volunteers and received countless non-perishable food items.

The money raised from the Wreath Stroll in the amount of $1,000 will be presented to the essential workers of Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1 who have been resilient in their efforts to ensure the safety of those directly and indirectly impacted by the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. A portion of the wreaths were given to be put on the gravestones of former pastors and ministers affiliated with Kingston Presbyterian Church.

Harbor Retirement Associates identified a task force at the cusp of the pandemic to strategize how to combat and manage the outbreak of COVID-19. Future residents of HarborChase of Princeton will be eligible to receive the vaccine to continue to prevent contracting COVID-19 as residents qualify being a part of Phase 1a or those who are most susceptible. All properties continue to exceed the recommended protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
